Single of the Week - Ready for Your Love by Gorgon City

This is a new release - it should be charting as we speak. I have only heard this a couple of times, but already it has got itself firmly stuck in my head. Its a grower - on first hearing its not all that to be honest, but when you hear it again, it seems to hit a different spot.

Gorgon City are an electro pop style group, and are not really established as yet. This track features MNEK, who is quite connected having worked with other artists I love, including Duke Dumont, Rudimental and Clean Bandit whose single Rather Be I chose as my single of the week last week.

This track is quite housy, and has a really good beat to it. I just love it when the chorus "Ready for your love" kicks in. I think this will chart high, and will be around for a while personally. I can imagine this being played in the summer, and that it will be one of those that lingers. It's got a vibe to it that lends itself to dark clubs or sunny days by the pool somehow.

The music is great, but its the vocals that make this a stand out track. It goes from being a mediocre dance track, to something special when that voice comes in strong. This is a fabulous song to stick on in the house to make housework seem more appealing (well ok, at least to distract you) or just to pop on whilst you're getting ready to go out - whether to work or a night out - its a feel good, make you bop about kind a song, but in a non-cheesy grown up way.

They don't come much better than this - music, style, vocals and lyrics = fabulous. Go have a listen.

You can check out more of the my music here. Happy listening :)
