It's now Week 6 of "My Week with" music reviews. Each week I choose a different artist to review a track each day, for seven days. This week I have chosen Pink.
Real name Alecia Beth Moore Hart, but mainly known by her stage name. She is American and is both a song writer and a singer. Unbelievably, Pink released her first solo single back in 2000. She has been around that long, and yet still looks so young.
Now I didn't know, but she was once in a girl band called Choice. I didn't know, because they weren't very huge, well not here anyway. She wisely chose to go solo, and her first single, "There you Go" came out in 2000.
For me, I first became aware of Pink when she featured on the song Lady Marmalade, along with Lil Kim, Christina Aguilera and Mya. That was a huge hit, and she followed on the highs the success of that song gave her.
She has now released six studio albums and a greatest hits album. She has won Grammy Awards, Brit Awards, MTV awards, and several for being an inspirational woman. Which she is.
There is no denying that this woman rocks. She has a unique style in a crammed market place, with a voice that is kind of a rock pop. Its still mainstream, but packing emotion and power. Like the woman herself. This is a woman who doesn't conform. She is who she is and she doesn't change to fit in with what other people expect her to be. That's something we should all take something from.
Many of her singles have been emotional, whilst others are just fun. She has that ability to change, and its no surprise that she was a Madonna fan! Her body is dynamite. She is not womanly - with curves etc.. She can look hard and tough, but by god she is sexy. She is an inspiration and no mistake.
Tomorrow I shall pick my first track and review it here on my blog. I'm looking forward to this. I hope you will join me as we enjoy what Pink has to offer us. :)
