Day Six of My Week with Take That brings you the song Rule The World. This single is taken from the fourth studio album, Beautiful World.
The song was released as a single in October 2007, but only reached number 2 unbelievably. The album was released in 2006.
This song though, has become a star in its own right. It's from one of my favourite films - Stardust, and was written specifically for it. It was also in the Olympic closing ceremony in 2012, when Take That performed it as the flame was put out.
This is a beautiful pop ballad, with Gary Barlow, having penned it, on lead vocals again. It starts so softly with "you light the skies up above me" " a star so bright you blind me". Then it kicks in and it really lifts into a powerful emotional epic of the pop variety with all four boys really giving it some.
The video is cool. Just Take That, in the studio, recording this brilliant song. Now, if like me, you are a massive fan of the film, then not only is the song fab, but it also makes you think of Stardust. Not a bad thing and if you haven't seen it then why haven't you and what are you waiting for?
Back to the song. This is possibly the best Take That song of them all, and I say that with one more choice to go in this week with them, but there you go. It's just beautiful. Beautiful worlds, beautiful sounds, beautiful words. It just takes you to a magical place this one, so do not hesitate and go there now. Happy listening.
