My Week with Madonna Day Six - Beautiful Stranger

Day six of My Week with Madonna and today my choice is 'Beautiful Stranger'.

Released back in 1999, its most memorable from the Austin Powers film - The Spy Who Shagged Me. Madonna collaborated with William Orbit for this one.

This is a really upbeat track, and quite a dance number - that will be Msr Orbit's influence no doubt. Its very catchy, lots of melodic guitar and a very catchy ' da da da da da da' sung by Madonna.

Clearly the UK thought so too, as this track hit the number 2 spot. Its a love track, but not the norm - more about infatuation than anything meaningful - its all about fun.

The video is brilliant. Madonna is on stage, throwing some shapes - winging her (very muscular and defined) arms around, and thrusting. Austin Powers is in the audience watching her perform and er, imagining her perform if you follow!! Well, he is Austin Powers!!

Madonna looks amazing. Austin - well, he looks like Austin aka Mike Myers. Its a funny, bright and upbeat video, perfect accompaniment for the track.

This is Madonna at her very best. Go take a listen, and let me know what you think. I really enjoyed listening and watching it, as its been a while since I did. It sounds fab still.

If you can't wait for the last day of My Week with Madonna, go check out days 1-5 at My Music page by clicking here. Happy listening :)
