Day 6 of my week with Kylie and today its 'All the Lovers'.
This is perhaps her sexiest single. All the Lovers is clear from the title as to its content and meaning. Its about all the lovers that have gone before not comparing to her current love.
It was released in 2010, and was the lead single from her eleventh album Aphrodite. It reached number 3 in the UK singles chart.
This is such a catchy song. She sounds soft and gentle and her vocals are very breathy as she sings. It sounds beautiful. There is more than a nod to the dancefloor and the gay scene where Kylie has a huge following.
No more so that in the video. People run towards one another, stripping down to their underwear before kissing and touching. Men and men, women and men, women and women - every combination. They form a human pyramid on top of which is Kylie, writhing around in a skimpy outfit and absolutely fantastic shoes!!
Everyone is kissing, touching, groping. Kylie sways on top of them all as the pyramid grows. It sounds rude, but actually, its a very beautiful visual video. Its sensual and sexy rather than graphic and in your face.
Its definitely a dance song, but its not fast paced. It has a nice steady beat to it and is very electro pop and synthesiser. This song is very pleasing to both the ear and the eye.
