My week with Taylor Swift day 5 and today its 'I Knew You Were Trouble'.
'I Knew You Were Trouble' was released in 2012. It was the third single from her 2012 album 'Red'.
This song is all about a good girl falling for a bad boy. As in, 'trouble'. Now I don't think its just me that knows exactly how that feels!
Taylor collaborated on this song, and there was speculation, yet again, that she was writing about her own experiences. Whether or not that's true, this song captures the sentiment perfectly.
The video shows Taylor looking a bit more rock chick than her usual clean cut style. Dyed hair, grungy attire, lots of sass. Clearly very into this guy, only to then be left on her own. Great video, but the 2 whole minutes of her talking at the start are a bit annoying - skip forward to the song would be my advice.
I like how Taylor sounds more fierce vocally in this song. She sounds stronger, her voice more powerful, and its definitely got more of a nod towards rock influence than her traditional country vibe. Its sounds good.
Its a different sound for Taylor - more grown up. It was also a huge hit reaching number 2 in the UK singles chart. This is a guitar and bass song, and very different from her other songs. Its for that reason that I've chosen it.
So there we have it, day 5 done. Another great song. If you want to check out days 1 -4 you can find them, plus loads more over at My Music page here. Happy listening :)
