What I'm Watching this Week

This week I am watching:

  • Big Brother. I admit it - I am loving this season. They are all mad as hatters. Mark has to be the most annoying housemate ever in BB history. Oh no, wait sorry - that was Perez! Close though. Bitching, odd types wandering around in the nuddy - bonkers or what!! And the arguing - give me strength - this lot would argue over the opening of an envelope!! Brilliant viewing.
  • Banshee. An ex con gets released, but assumes the identity of the town sheriff in the town of Banshee. Its slick, violent but very cleverly executed. You just don't know what is going to happen next and I love the brutality of it. You can't count your chickens at all in this gritty drama from the US. One of the better TV boxsets I've seen of late. Exhilarating.
  • Corrie. Bonkers Jenny, and that storyline blunder aside (yes Kevin, you have in fact lost a child you know lest you forget again!), the drama around the fire aftermath continues to build. Kylie is back and all hell as usual breaks loose. Dev is still playing Julie along, but meanwhile the return of Brian stirs things up even more. Liz has moved on - I mean seriously, there should be some sort of warning for these men - bunny boiler or what with all that plate smashing! Crikey. Great stuff on the cobbles this week.
  • Grand Designs. I am obsessed with all things to do with design and home improvements but at the moment its all about Grand Designs for me. Kevin McCloud is such a cool guy - consistently commenting about keeping certain characteristics of traditional buildings as they are turned into something spectacular. Underground terrains, eco buildings, wood shipped in from Japan, renovation of all manner of industrial buildings - water towers, lifeboat stations. Its fascinating and its also of real concern how many folks commence such grandiose projects without the funding in place! I love this program. My absolute favorite of them all at present.
