How to get a great night's sleep

I sometimes struggle to get a good night's sleep. It is so frustrating when you are absolutely ready to get some quality shut eye, but you put your head on the pillow and suddenly you are awake - still tired, but not able to sleep. Yes, there are medical solutions in the form of pills to help you sleep and keep you calm, and that's fine, but I want to get to sleep without those.

Now I am sure I'm not alone with this problem, so I wanted to share my round up of my top tips to help you get a great night's sleep.

  • Lavender oil 
  • Hot chocolate
  • Warm bath
  • Open a window
  • Get some exercise
  • Clean bedding
  • Read a good book
  • Listen to the waves lapping
  • Don't eat late
  • Turn the lights off
  • Turn the heating off
  • Scented body oil
  • Calming music
  • No gadgets in the bedroom
