What I'm Watching This Week

  • The World Cup. I usually watch the games that I feel I can get behind - I'm talking England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. However, with only England qualifying, I found myself watching, dare I say it, virtually every game so far! All the England matches, certainly, and for once we are still in it, which is great, but I've seen Germany go out, Argentina, then Portugal - who would have thought it? Japan putting up such a brave fight - so many shock moments, so many shock exits!! This has been a great event so far and I am really enjoying it.

  • Billions. Now on the new series - series 3, and its still so good. Bobby says to Rhodes - if I go down, you go down with me, to which Rhodes replies "Worth it". Classic. I love this show - full of drama, so clever, such wonderful dialogue and monologue. Still not sure why Bobby and Lara have split or why as they always seemed solid, only fly in the ointment when Wendy and Chuck are somehow still together despite both of their actions. This show is sexy, brilliantly written, superbly acted - cannot get enough.

  • Love Island. Yes, its a bit trashy, yes they are all a bit full of themselves, but its just such entertaining watching. Bitchy comments, double crossing, staying loyal and being pied - its all happening. Not least helped by the fact they are all (except Laura) young and beautiful and full of youth and stupid naivety. Really people trust another human being after a whole day? Seriously. Love this show - the music is great, the commentary hilarious and as for Flack - the woman has legs like a goddess! Great stuff.
