If You Had to Choose One Last Meal - What Would You Choose?

Would you go healthy with a salad box?

    Traditional dinner with gravy?

Decisions, decisions, decisions. I got to thinking about what I might choose as a last meal whilst completing a survey about of all things, traditional chips. You know - the chip shop chip which you get with salt and vinegar, or gravy, or mushy peas, or even, exotically, curry sauce!! I'm not really a chip eater, so that wasn't even on my list if I had just one final meal looming before me.

So what would I opt for? I personally am most likely a fussier eater than most, as steaks, most fish, and anything off the bone are firmly off the radar for me. My choices would likely, now I put my mind to it, heading more in the curry direction - Chicken Tikka Massalla, or Balti, maybe something to really spice it up like a Vindaloo or a Madras.

But then I do love a good chinese or thai meal - chicken chop suey or sweet and sour, beef in black bean sauce maybe, or possibly a great chow mein, with prawn crackers of course! Then there is thai green or thai red curry - lovely.

Then again, I do like Mexican food - I love my chilli's, my nachos, my tacos, burritos, enchilada's, fajitas, hmm. Maybe I would choose mexican then. Oh but wait - what about Spanish and Greek? I love Tapas - you cannot beat Croquettes, or skewers, mixed olives, hummus, patatas bravas - the list is long. Greek? we are talking stuffed vine leaves, tzatziki, moussaka!

Maybe I would go for British - pie, or maybe a great doorstep sandwich, or perhaps something like yorkshire pudding with a carvery, and lots of veg, or shepherds pie or hotpot. Then again, there is more American fodder like burgers, hotdogs, corndogs or fried chicken. Or then there is Italian - linguine, bruschetta, carbonara, pizza, ravioli, lasagne.

Actually, now I think about it - its going to have to be Italian for me. How about you? What would your last meal be?

    Gran Canaria 2015 - LBD!!

Gran Canaria 2015 was fabulous. The weather was amazing. I took with me a new little black dress and here it is on its very first outing:

Gran Canaria can get quite chilly in the evening sometimes - just being a windy place rather then temperature wise, so this was perfect for the climate. It was also very forgiving mid holiday after some over indulgence!!

    Fuerteventura 2017 - holiday memories

Tousled or tangled - the joys of beach hair

We headed of for our summer holiday in August - Fuerteventura this time. We stayed in the Riu hotel right on the beach and it was amazing. The beach was out of this world, much like Gran Canaria's beach really with its stunning dunes and mountains.

I can honestly say that I have never laughed so much on a holiday as this time. We had a ball, soaking up the beautiful sunshine, jumping in the waves, a spot of body boarding. A few beers - of course, and the odd glass of wine. Rude not to really.

Leaving our footsteps in the sand, then watching the waves erase them - somehow mesmerising.

For me, no holiday is complete without a good read. Three books I got through this time. Feeling the warmth on my skin (factor 30 thickly applied), a nice cold beer, sand in my toes and a good book - absolute heaven for me.

We had a fantastic room - huge balcony terrace on the ground floor, but very private. Surrounded by beautiful palm trees - perfect for pre going out photo's.

And the odd selfie of course!

Although we went all-inclusive, we always like to get out into the local area at least one evening. So we headed out for a lovely meal, a stroll around the bay and a couple of drinks. Such a beautiful location.

In the evening, when the sun was almost set, it had this sort of dusky twilight light which made it seem magical.

It was the sort of place where people would leave behind the things they no longer needed - body boards, inflatables - things are awkward to travel with. So we dropped on with two boards, and just had to purchase a third. We had some fun with these.

The temperature barely dropped below 30 the whole week away. Usually the Canary Islands tend to go a bit chilly in the evenings, but not this time. It was still in the 20's and whilst there was a breeze, it was warm. We absolutely loved this place. Definitely recommended if you are looking for some sun - winter or summer - The Canaries are hard to beat.

Gran Canaria 2016 - LBD (and white)

2016 saw us head off to Gran Canaria for a third time. Staying in a different place again this time, but of course, the obligatory LBD had to be worn - this time with a splash of white I grant you!

My round up of the most bonkers ways to lose weight

    • The Apple diet - literally you just eat apples.
    • Only eat with chopsticks !!
    • The clingfilm wrap - yep - you wrap yourself in it and work out!!
    • The cabbage soup diet - yuck!!
    • The maple syrup diet
Not sure I like the sound of any of these!! As I come across others, I shall add them to the list :)

I want to be a salvage hunter!

I would so love to do this for a living. Finding hidden gems, bagging a bargain. My absolute dream job.

I would do a Kirsty Allsop - checking out what's gone into skips for starters - vintage doors, mirror frames, stuff you can upcycle. Fabulous.

Then there's the bigger scale stuff that the proper salvage hunters do. Going to storage yards and stately homes to find items that you can do up and sell for £'s profit. Iron benches, church pews - you name it.

There is just something appealing about making something disregarded into something special.

The only issue is you need an income or a solid amount of savings to live off in case you don't find a bargain or you can't sell it on. I'm not quite there yet, but its where I want to be.

I want to be a salvage hunter!!

    Things we saw in Barcelona

Barcelona is absolutely amazing, so full of culture and history and life. It is so vibrant, so cosmopolitan, so diverse, so offbeat and yet mainstream. It has a City heart and a beach like the top resorts in the world. So here is my attempt to show its true glory:

    Sagrada Familia

    El Gotic

    Maremagnum

    La Ramblas

    Ciutat Vella

    Port Vell

    Port Vell

    Anella Olimpica

    Camp Nou

    Passeig De Gracia

    Arc de Triomf

    El Poblenou

    Port Vell harbour

    Plaza Real
