What I'm Watching This Week

  • Bates Motel. This is one dark program - brilliantly acted, full of suspense, and lets face it, we all know Norman Bates is a wrong un, but just how wrong continues to shock. Cue the end of series 4, where Norma has died in suspicious circumstances, that we the viewer are fully aware was down to Norman himself. His own mother! Crikey.

  • Corrie. Who knew that Kayla was going to be nasty Neil's daughter. What a horrible situation to be in. The whole Eva, Johnny, Susie drama continues with Eva announcing she's off - with Adam in tow - blimey. Its looking to me like Peter and Carla are heading towards a reconciliation, and long overdue it is too. Poor Craig meanwhile, seems to be struggling so much - surely there must be something good for him on the horizon. Corrie is as good as ever - loving the comedy and the drama - brilliant stuff.

  • Movies - this week The Shallows, The Autopsy of Jane Doe and Shelter. Three very different films - one about a shark, one unusual autopsy, and one very sinister supernatural tale. All three excellent in their own way. Love a good shark film, and this is one of the better ones - The Shallows - starring Blake Lively. Autopsy stars the brilliant Brian Cox, and without giving too much away, don't watch this one too late or on your own! Scary stuff. Shelter stars the talented Julianne Moore and this one doesn't disappoint.
