Im in Slytherin House!!

Having just watched the top 50 Harry Potter moments, and fresh from visiting The Harry Potter Tour and despite being 41 I decided to pop onto the site JKR mentioned - Pottermore, to see what house the sorting hat would place me in.

You have to register - it's straight forward enough, so no problem there. You have to let your wand pick you, and buy a pet ( I opted for a Siamese cat), then it off to the hall for the Sorting Hat to work its thing.

It asks you a few questions - you have to answer honestly. I was thinking I would likely be Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw, maybe even Gryffindor, but alas I was Slytherin!!! Yes, house of he that shall not be named, and Draco!! Damn it!!

That said, who ever remembers the good guys? Much as we root for them, the baddies have more fun!! So I am a Slytherin. Maybe I am destined for greatness after all??

Get yourself on there if you want a bit of fun and see what house you are. Drop me a comment if you do and let me know!! Here's the link http://www.pottermore.com

Have fun - who doesn't enjoy a bit of magic?

Larger than Life - reminder of why I don't eat like I used to!

Here is me - larger than life!!

Thankfully, I am much less large these days. Having said that, I am heading in that direction again, but I have started my health kick again. I will never get to this stage again!! :)

My Travels in Barcelona

This year,  I decided to book my other half a romantic break. After perusing the reviews and travel sites, I decided on Barcelona. Now, whilst it is possible to be romantic - its a beautiful city, its so much more than that. We stayed on La Ramblas, next to the Gothic quarter, and it was amazing, in your face and totally authentic.

We were more towards the middle of La Ramblas, so just a couple of minutes walk from the monument and the harbour.

Of course no trip to Barcelona could be complete without the obligatory visit to the Nou Camp stadium or Camp Nou as the Spanish actually call it. When in Spain...

Then there is the Gaudi masterpiece, that is still being worked on, Sagrada Familiar - started in 1882. Crikey! How breathtaking though.

Our hotel being on La Ramblas, we tried some of the local Tapas - very nice. The actual area though is mega busy and bustling - exciting and a bit intimidating all at the same time.

The port is beautiful and catching it at sunset is a must. Some of the yachts further around are out of this world - how the other half live.

For our final night, as we had watched the sunset, we opted for pink mojitos.

We loved this city break - but its not for the faint hearted. Its one of those places that you remember forever. One off the bucket list for sure!

Make like the Seaside at home

So the weather has been amazing this week in good old Blighty, but now, sadly, back to normal with rain and winds - in June!!

Which got me to thinking - if we do happen to get another chance at summer, how can I recreate the seaside given that we live nowhere near it?

Here is my plan to make our garden and home like being on a seaside break.

1 - make a sand pit
2 - get a paddling pool
3 - get a cocktail kit
4 - get some white fluffy towels
5 - get some beach towels
6 - pack a picnic
7 - get some soft ice cream and cones
8 - get the bbq out
9 - get some sea shells
10 - get a bucket and spade
11 - get a vintage swimsuit
12 - get some blackpool rock (doesn't have to be blackpool)
13 - get some games - giant jenga, giant kerplunk, bat and ball
14 - eat fish and chips in paper
15 - get some deck chairs
16 - make a "face in the hole" cardboard cut out of your choice!

Now there are the ingredients so I just need to lay them out to make it like being away at the seaside.

Obviously, once you have a sand pit, you can feel the sand between your bare toes and make sand castles! The paddling pool is clearly like dipping your toes in the sea - possibly a bit warmer though!

Cocktails for the adults, alcohol free virgin cocktails for the kids. White fluffy towels for after you get showered - wherever you stay, the towels are always white and fluffy!

Beach towels - of course. Plonk yourself down. Pack a picnic and eat Al Fresco. Ice cream in a cone - plus red sauce and sprinkles obvs. If in doubt, get the BBQ out - great if there are a load of you - bang on the burgers and the sausages, fry some onions - job done.

Get some sea shells and listen to the sea. Bucket and spade are obligatory. Vintage swimsuit - the British seaside is not for bikinis. Get you chops around some sticky sweet seaside rock.

Get silly with giant games, and make your own arcade games. For supper, fish and chips in paper is a must, with loads of vinegar, salt and pepper. Eat them sitting in a deck chair.

Finally - get your face in the hole, get a picture snapped and you are almost certainly at the seaside!

My New Single of the Week - Despacito by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee

My single of the week is the very brilliant 'Despacito' and the version from Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee - not the Bieber one!

Both artists are from Puerto Rico, and this version is completely in Spanish, making it very unusual. Apparently, its the first mainly Spanish song to hit the top of the charts since the Macarena! Blimey.

What I love about this song, is that its totally summery. Its funky, its sexy, its sultry and despite being Spanish, you can sort of sing along to it, and you can most certainly dance to it. It has a seductive pulse to it, and it makes you feel good.

The video is beautiful - very low key - just a group of them hanging out, looking cool and happy singing away. The girl is stunning - cue making me actually get on the treadmill! Clearly never eaten a pie in her life, hence looking like that. No wonder they are singing to her!

I love the sort of reggae feel to it, though its still a pop song. Its just so different from anything else - I absolutely love it. It does kind of make me feel a bit like its a nod to Santana - who takes Latino cool to a new level. That is a compliment by the way.

Funky, sexy, catchy - what more do you want from a summer tune? I do like the Bieber version, but I prefer this one.

If you have somehow missed this version, go check it out. Let me know what you think. If you want more music then check out My Music page here.

It isn't just about the scales you know

I get a bit obsessed with the scales when I am trying to lose weight. Perfectly understandable, but then I have to remember that its not just about the scales. There are lots of other ways to measure the changes I am making to my body as I progress.

Such as:

  • my clothes getting bigger
  • my belly getting smaller
  • my face getting more shape
  • cheekbones reappearance
  • more energy
  • feeling stronger
  • seeing muscle tone
  • feeling my legs tighten
  • seeing my arms get leaner
  • being able to do a full push up
  • getting into a smaller clothes size
  • sleeping better
  • better endurance
  • clothes fitting properly
  • changing the clothes I wear
  • feeling healthier
  • losing inches
  • thinner fingers
  • smaller feet!
These things are so important. I need to remember that these things matter as much as if not more than the number on the scales.

Stumbled upon inspiration

I was just browsing through some tweets, when I found this quote "If you're not coming across any failures or setbacks in your life, then you're not working towards success". My gosh never a wiser word spoken!!

I have derailed quite spectacularly, so this inspired me immensely.

Tomorrow is another day. :)

I want rid of this tummy!!

I've got this image in my head now of how I am going to look when I reach goal. That's a good thing.

Its also frustrating me when I look at my tummy as I am totally impatient and I want it gone. I want rid of it sticking out when I'm losing weight and want to look and feel better.

I'm sure it will go in time, but its my biggest body concern at the moment. I can't stand it. Probably largely because I look at it, and I can see all those things I've eaten and drunk and it makes me feel guilty.

Once that's flattened out I will start to feel much more body confident. Bring on that day!!

Wise words

Can you be thin and drink wine?

So this is the thought I'm mulling over. You see - I even reference wine without meaning to! Mulled wine - mulling over? Even my sub conscious rambling mind harks back to the same point of reference!!

Back to the point. Can you be thin and drink wine? For me, its my nemesis. I just can't seem to lose weight if I drink the vino. Worse still, it weakens my willpower and resolve and makes me want to eat more as well, so in my case drinking wine makes me fat.

This is not good news. Not at all. But I do so enjoy a glass of wine as there is nothing quite like it. I don't smoke, never done drugs of any sort, don't really have any vices of any sort really other than over eating of course. Unless you count coffee as a vice, I'm pretty good. Except for my love of wine.

I like whiskey, but I can take it or leave it. I like a lovely chilled pint of Peroni on a hot summer afternoon. But nothing gets me craving like le vino.

Can I lose weight though if I indulge myself? Maybe once I reach goal I might be able to have a few and stay slim but for now I think the answer is a resounding nope, no sirree, not a chance.

I'm therefore finishing the remains of the last bottle in the fridge and then its no wine for me for the foreseeable. At least until the next holiday - or maybe birthday!!

I shall cherish the fruit of the vine this evening. I have to live off the memory for quite some time so I had better enjoy every sip!! :(

When things get bad, I remind myself of this:

This is what its all for.

From this point on, whatever life throws at me, I come home to this. I love this house and nothing will ever change that.

A lion does not lose sleep over the opinion of sheep

I read this and thought hell yeah!! I have been so worried lately over what people think. Worried about letting people down, letting myself down, procrastinating everything and anything.

Then I read this and I thought - why am I worrying what other people think? I know who I am, and I am good at what I do. I don't need to keep doubting myself. I am a lion.

Lions roar. Lions rule their pride, and defend their own. They stand their ground. They don't have sleepless nights worrying what sheep think of them, or what sheep think, or even whether sheep even exist!!

So, from this point forward I am a lion. I just need to roar!! :)

Next Holiday Destination???

We decided to book in advance for once for next year's hols. Usually, we book between 3 & 6 months ahead, but we thought we would get organised. Well, that was the plan anyway.

Cue 2 months or so of us browsing holiday destinations and we are still nowhere even close to decided. It's starting to become annoying now.

I love a beach holiday, but my other half only likes beach holidays. Whereas I would like to alternate. One beach hol, one exploring hol not necessarily somewhere hot. There is a huge world out there.

So we almost agreed that we would go to America - New England, just the two of us. Then enter G into the equation. She wants to go to the USA too. Now, New England is Stephen King land, and I wanted to go in the fall when the trees are in their autumn colours. This is not a hol for a 11 year old.

Then we started to consider Orlando. This would be with G. The first hurdle was the time away issue. As in you need two weeks not one. That was resolved quicker and easier than expected.

There is a lot to do there so we looked at a twin break. Disney, Universal, Florida, Miami, Seaworld - crikey! But then there are other places in the USA that I want to go. Namely Washington, New York, Chicago to name but a few.

Not to mention the Caribbean and Hawaii! So that got us onto cruises. We also want to go on a cruise. I want to go to the Caribbean. The Med is the destination of choice for my other half.

But we also want to go to Greece. An all inclusive yes, but also an island hopping trip. Some just me and him, some the family. Depends when and where as to which is which.

But then again we love the Canaries. We have been to Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura together, and I have been to Lanzarote before, and I love them.

So where do we go? Do we do the Med? If so, do we do all inclusive, island hopping or a cruise?

Or do we go longhaul to the USA? Do we go to touristy Orlando or off the beaten track South America?

There is so much world out there to see, its hard to pin it down. More research me thinks. Back to the drawing board!!

Green Tea - Not loving it!

In my quest for slimness I have been willing up until this point to try most anything really (within reason - maybe!).

I have read that Green Tea is very good for you - its a natural detox to flush out your system and apparently it revs up your metabolism. I tried some - oh dear lord it is gross.

So not willing to give it up as a lost cause, I discovered there are different flavours. Thankfully they taste better than the plain one!! The one with lemon is close to being palatable!! The problem is that it looks horrible:

All in all, I can't say I like it, but if it means I lose weight, that my skin looks clearer and that I am a bit healthier then I can tolerate it. Seriously though, I just can't understand how some people love the stuff. Do you? If you are one of those that loves it then tell me how you take it - I need to know!! :)

Cocktail by the sea?

Don't mind if I do! This was my (one of) cocktail by the sea. How good does this look?

This was a margarita cocktail. I have to tell you it tasted every bit as it looked. We were on silver wristbands, as in we had the proper stuff not the local stuff in our drinks!

I sampled most of them during our stay - well, it would have been rude not to!! Gran Canaria is a beautiful place, and our hotel, the Dunas Don Gregory was amazing. How blue is that sky!!

Places I want to go with the other half

My other half is not as well travelled as am I, but there are places I have already been, and a lot I haven't been, that I want to go with him.

I have decided to come up with a list of the places I want to enjoy with my soul mate. Here goes:

  • Chicken Satay
  • Beef Burger
  • Pork Sausages
  • Corn on the Cob
  • Jerk Chicken
  • Spicy Lamb Koftas

So, onto the drink:
  • Pimms o'clock (orange, cucumber, lemonade, strawberries)
  • Vodka mango juice
  • Long Island Iced Tea

  • Chilled white wine
  • Chilled rose wine

Work out like the world is watching - give it your all

I read a quote that said dance like noone is watching. Great advice that - just let it go, let your hair down, shake it out.

However, the same does not apply to the gym. My quote - work out like the world is watching - give it your all. What's the difference you may ask?

I shall tell you. Dancing is more energetic when you do not care what you look like, whether you have rhythm or whether you have two left feet.

The gym however, is where just going through the motions kidding yourself that a slow plod will work wonders is not going to get you results. Since having a PT, I now realise that you have to push yourself.

So my advice is this - work out like you have your PT standing over you, and you are showing the world what you are made of. Don't spend your precious hour gossiping with your mate - you can go for a coffee, shopping or drinks to do that.

I'm not saying that a brisk low impact walk is bad for you, but I am saying that you get out what you put in. You've done the hard bit getting to the gym in the first place, so workout like the world is watching once you are there!! Give it your all!! :)

Hottest June day ever - how to keep cool

As the temperatures have reached 30 and over, its time to think how to keep cool. Here is my round up of what you can do to be just like Fonzie:

  • Wear loose clothing
  • Ditch the thick socks
  • Keep hydrated with water
  • Carry a spritz or cool spray with you
  • Keep your feet bare when you can
  • Keep a hat on - stop that head getting burnt
  • Slap on the sun screen - hot is bad, burnt is worse
  • Turn on the fans
  • Stay in the shade
  • Keep your car windows down a jot
  • Pop your toes in cold water
  • Get your bikini out
  • Slip on your shorts
  • Sleep in the buff

  • Put your umbrella up
  • Put your flip flops in the fridge

Reasons to Stick to my Diet Number 34 - My Wedding!

My reason to stick to my diet number 34 is because of my wedding. Scheduled, but not yet booked for 2018, I need to get to goal weight before I can even begin to think about my dress.

I have no idea what style I want as I have no idea if what is in my head will look right on my body, until said body is at the right weight. I don't know if my goal weight is going to be the right weight until I get there, and as I never quite manage it, its making it difficult to crack on with my wedding plans.

Now that is a big incentive and should be all the motivation I need this time!

33 Reasons to Stick to my Diet

    Number 1
    #Reason No 1 - I want to look good in a bikini!!

This is my intention to think of a reason every day to stick to my diet.

If I can keep that thought in mind for each whole day, I hope it will be enough to keep me motivated and inspired.

    Number 2
    #Reason No 2 - I want to be a Size 10/12

My intention to think of a reason every day to stick to my diet.

If I can keep this thought in mind for each whole day, I hope it will be enough to keep me motivated and inspired.

Reason Number 2 is that I have reached a Size 12 once or twice, but never maintained it, and I need to be a bit smaller still. So size 10/12 is the goal.

    Number 3
Reason number 3 to stick to my diet: To fit into all those lovely clothes in my wardrobe!!

I have many items in my wardrobe that I can't currently wear. Some are mere pounds away from fitting, some I can barely get up to my knees!! Some do fit, but look awful because they fit in all the wrong places!!

It would be lovely to open my wardrobe and just be able to select an item, knowing it will fit me. It would make packing for holiday a pleasure, not a challenge!!

    Number 4
My reason number 4 for sticking to my diet is to look good at work. I am fed up of wearing the same old clothes every day. I want to be able to wear what I want to wear, not just black and grey.

I want to be more stylish, more groomed, more put together. So my fourth reason is to look good at work.

    Number 5
Number 5 on my list of reasons to stick to my diet is to have more confidence. When I gain weight, I feel self conscious, and horrible, and grumpy.

When I lose some weight, I have more confidence, I feel happier and better. So that's reason number 5!

    Number 6:
I want to be noticed for the right reasons!! I am fed up of walking into bars, restaurants, offices and feeling eyes on me - for all the wrong reasons! I want to be the person that gets looks in a good way. So that is my reason number 6!!

    Number 7:
Ok so number 7 is a bit different. This reason is a bit of a phobia I seem to have developed. I have a real issue with facing the mirrors at the gym. When I am working certain exercises, I am supposed to check my technique in the mirror. Not me, no way, never!! I will face the other way, or if I have no choice, I will look anywhere but at that damn mirror!!

So reason number 7 for sticking to my diet is to reach a weight where I am comfortable seeing myself in the mirror when I work out.

    Number 8 :
When I am overweight in the summer when its warm, it makes me feel even more hot and uncomfortable. I lose weight to go on holiday abroad, and it feels so good being able to wear bikini's, shorts and skirts.

Unfortunately, when I get home to the UK, I gain weight and then when it gets warm here, I am not able to wear my summer clothes. This is ridiculous. So I am changing the pattern this year and I am going to be slim for the summer here for once!!!

I want to be cool, and look cool, not hot and uncomfortable!!!

    Number 9:
Today, I want to get under the stone mark. I am sick of almost reaching goal, then never quite getting under that stone mark!!!!

    Number 10:
As a woman, and just turned 40, the area around my middle is a problem. Always has been if I'm brutally honest, but now it bugs me more than ever!!

So, my reason to continue with this intense plan is that - I want that middle trimmed down and not bulging over the top of my waistbands!!
Its also a reason to do a lot of abs. :)

    Number 11:
I have never been one of those women that throws on a pair of shorts in summer. At a push, I will don a pair on holiday where noone I know is likely to see me but I don't have the pins for shorty shorts.

I would love to have toned pins so that I can - so that's today's motivation :)

    Number 12:
Today's reason to stick to my diet and exercise plan is that I want to see my cheekbones again. I am very lucky to possess good bone structure - I have been told many times.

Many times that is, when you can actually see them, unlike now!! My face is the first place weight seems to go from when I lose it. Unfortunately, its also the first place that it goes back on, which is what I am rocking or sadly not, at the moment.

So, today's reason is to rediscover them bones them bones them dry bones. Cheekbones that it is :)

    Number 13:
Today's reason to stick to the diet - lying on the sofa won't make me bikini ready!! And yet I am having one of those days when that is all I want to do.

I just want to put my head in those cushions, lay back, still a film on and be done with it. But I can't. Well, I could, but then there would be no point when I am looking back on holiday in beating myself up and feeling fat. If I choose that option, I deserve to look crap on the beach.

So, today's reason is that lying on the sofa will not make me bikini ready. So that has to be a start to get me up and active today and stay away from the chocolates!! :)

    Number 14:
Today's reason to stick to the diet - I want to look good in lingerie.

Yes, its that female enjoyment of wearing beautiful underwear. The problem at the moment, is that my underwear is tending to be functional rather than beautiful. This must change.

I want to wear gorgeous lacy things, delicate items - not boulder holders!! So that is today's reason to stick to the diet. :)

    Number 15:
Today's reason to stick to the diet - I am not getting any younger!!

Right - its that old saying that as you get older, you generally thicken out, and gain a few pounds. Now, if this is the case, having just turned 40 myself, it sure is not going to get any easier battling against my body.

If age does slow the metabolism, all the more reason to lose the weight now, before biology starts to tick against me!!

So that is today's reason to motivate me, and as reasons go, this one seems to be pretty powerful!! :)

    Number 16:
Today's reason for sticking to my diet - I want toned arms.

Yep, I want rid of the bingo wings and the armpit fat. I'm not really that big - probably somewhere between a size 12 and a size 14 at the present time - a size 13 if you will, if there was such a thing!!

However, I want my arms to be defined, to be toned, to get rid of these annoying flabby bits so that I look nice in dresses and am not worried about the hammy area at the top of my arms.

Diet alone won't shift this so I need to up the ante on the weight front.

    Number 17:
Today's reason to stick to the diet - I want to have some wine!!

Yes, when I reach goal weight, or holiday, whichever comes first, I can finally have some wine!! But only, and I repeat, only, if I get under that stone mark!!

So that is today's reason. Bribery. Works a treat with me :)

    Number 18:
Today's reason to stick to the diet is that I want rid of the muffin top!!

I am losing weight, I am sticking to the exercise and yet still, that unsightly bulge over my waistband when I sit down remains. I don't know how slim I will need to get to in order to get rid of this damned bit of flab, but I am determined.

So that is today's reason. No more muffins - either the food variety or the overhang!! :)

    Number 19:
Yep, today's reason is simple. It is not at all long now until my holiday. I am just weeks away now, and I have to make each day count!!

Tonight, I could easily have given in. The last thing in the world I wanted for my tea tonight was the 3 day diet measly portions. But I have done it. Why? Because I want to be the best I can be when I get on that plane.

Ok, so miracles don't happen, but I can at least be unbloated and more streamlined that if I pig out at this point!!

    Number 20:
Today's reason to stick to my diet is that the scales have not dropped on weigh in this morning. I was really fed up. I have been so good, exercised so much, every single day.

The result? Stayed the bloody same!! So, today's reason to stick to it is exactly that - I haven't lost any weight, so I have to keep going until I do!!

    Number 21:
Today's reason to stick to the diet - I want to go to posh restaurants!!

What I mean is, that I want to get dressed up in glamorous clothes looking amazing and go out to posh restaurants. I do go out, to lovely places, but I always feel frumpy.

I end up overeating- starters, mains and puddings, washed down with wine. Calorific? Hell yes. Taste good? Damn right!!

The problem is the getting ready and how I feel about me. I want to look nice, to feel confident. I do not want to look like the person who orders everything on the menu!!

So that is today's reason, so that one day, I will look like the person I want to be :)

    Number 22:
Today's reason for sticking to my diet is because I am fed up of being fed up about my weight and my body. I go on a diet, lose a bit, go on holiday or to the wedding - whatever the event that prompted the weight loss.

I pile it on again, and it all starts all over again. I never maintain - I only ever lose or gain. The more fed up I get, the harder I try, but then when I get to the end of the path, I go overboard everytime. I put it on and I feel fed up. I eat what I want, but then I feel fed up when I am fat.

So, that's today's reason - I do not want to be fed up about this anymore. It is just ridiculous and it has to stop.

    Number 23:
Today's Reason to stick to my Diet - I want toned inner thighs My legs are toning up a bit, slowly. I am developing some good definition, but clearly, my inner thighs are not being worked in quite the same manner, as they are refusing to change.

My inner thighs are flabby and unsightly, and nothing - not squats, not Zumba, not running, seems to be making a difference. Losing weight will help of course. It won't tone them up, but it will remove some of the fat.

However, in order to accomplish this goal, I need to stick to my diet, every day, and stick to the exercise plan but also add some specialist moves to tone these bad boys up!!

So that is today's reason - if I do not stick to it, I shall have flabby inner thighs forever!! Not having that!! :)

    Number 24:
Today's reason to stick to my diet is that I want to be proud of my body. I am 40 years old, and not once have I felt totally proud of how I look.

Don't get me wrong - sometimes I look ok and I scrub up well, but put me in a bikini or a pair of shorts and panic sets in. I resign myself to how I look thinking "when I reach goal weight" and then it never happens.

Not this time!!! This time, I am going to exercise, I am going to diet, I am going to reach goal and why? Because I want to be proud of my body.

    Number 25:
Today's reason for sticking to the diet is that I want to be in control and not my body. My mind needs to rule, not my hunger or cravings.

This is the problem - I get the strongest desire to eat crap and drink wine. Or a lovely cold beer and a burger, or crisps, or cheese or cake. Its never good stuff. I give in and then I enjoy it for a few minutes, and then within minutes, I am feeling fat and horrible, and the impact lasts for days.

I am tired of being ruled by cravings for fatty foods and I want to be in control. The longer I stick to the plan, the more I form new habits to replace the unhealthy ones and the better I feel mentally because then I am in the driving seat and in control.

    Number 26:
Today's reason to stick to my diet is how wonderful it feels to lose weight. When you get on the scales, and it has dropped, its a good feeling.

When the pounds start to add up and become half stones it feels great. When you start to drop whole stones and look and feel better, its the best feeling ever.

I need to keep that in mind, as the reverse is also true. When you get on those scales and its gone up, it feels awful.

So, I need to remember how bad it feels when the scales go up and how wonderful it feels when my weight is coming down.

    Number 27:
Today's reason to stick to the plan is simple - I will never get my ass in shape by sitting on it!!

What I am saying is that there is no point sitting around, bemoaning the fact that I am not at goal weight whilst spending my time sitting on my backside. If I want a banging body and to reach goal weight, I have to get up and move and work at it.

    Number 28:
Today's reason to stick to my diet - I want to be free to have a pint!!

Today was a lovely sunny day, and it killed me not being able to just go to the pub, sit in the beer garden and have a cold pint of lager. I used to do it a lot, but then I realised I was overweight and wanted to not be, so I stopped doing it to lose the weight.

The problem is that I spend most of damn summer trying to lose weight and I never get to have that pint!! So I want to stick to my diet, get to goal weight, and stay there.

Then I can have my pint in the sun!!

    Number 29:
Today's Reason to Diet is that I want to enjoy the sunshine not dread it.

It breaks down like this - the sun comes out, I panic. I have a desperate hunt through my wardrobe to find something I can be cool enough it whilst not looking like a hippo.

It gets on my nerves. I should be like "yay, sunshine, damn girl". Nope. It fills me full of fear.

    So that is today's reason.

    Number 30:
Today's Reason to Diet is that I want to look good wet.

Yep, no matter how much I can hold it in, patch it up and camouflage when it comes to getting in the water, all bets are off. I want to be able to get in that pool, dive in those waves, and come out looking good instead of coming out looking like I have narrowly avoided the harpoon!!

I want to be as glamourous soaking wet as when I am fully loaded with the war paint and spanx!!

    That is today's reason :)

    Number 31:
Today's Reason to Diet is that I want to show off my belly piercing!! Yes, I finally got it done, so now I need the body to be able to show it off!!

    That is today's reason :)

    Number 32:
Today's reason to stick to the diet is that I want to be a good role model. My step daughter loves her food, but I want to be able to encourage her to be healthy and to exercise.

I feel a bit of a hypocrite if I am overweight and not in shape, so that is today's reason :)

    Number 33:
Yes, I recently discovered that because I am with a life insurance company who value good health, if I get to target weight and maintain it, I will get a cheaper insurance.

Not only that, but you also get perks like free cinema tickets and discounts on healthy stuff. Fab. What more reason do I need!!
