Looking for some winter sun - but where is the hottest?



I was thinking about squeezing in a late holiday this year - either late November, even December. We have been away already - in April, June and August to be precise - we love our holidays, but the cold weather is making me crave the sunshine again.

When the weather turns particularly cold and unpleasant here in good old Blighty, I want to go somewhere warm again. In previous years, I've been to Egypt and also Tunisia in late December, but in the present climate, I'm not talking heat, I aren't that keen to be honest on either.

I've been to Gran Canaria in early November last year and the weather was great, but have never been this late in the year. Its now swung around to early New Year, and I've been to both Egypt and Tunisia at this time of year - Tunisia is far too cool, but Egypt is pleasant.

So I thought I would take a look at the average temperatures to see if that helps to guide us!

What a fabulous idea - Adult colouring books!!

This evening I have stumbled upon something I had never imagined. Adult colouring books!!

Who didn't love colouring in as a child? correct. Noone. Everyone loves colouring when they are young.

But just for a moment imagine rather than pouring a glass of wine (or maybe as well as) you whip out your adult colouring book!! I don't mean adult as in X-rated either. I'm not talking about pornographic or sexual here.

I'm talking felt-tip pens and lovely pictures!! Yay!! Now I just need some lego to play with and I will be happy :)

    3 Degrees of Separation - Corrie and Eastenders

    I love working out the connections between people, and how they are so closely separated from, well, pretty much everyone else!! I started this concept with The Walking Dead, and its been truly fascinating how the cast and music etc. link to other actors, shows and films.

    I took this picture last winter 2014. We had the snow, then it froze, crystallizing the snow. When the sun came out, I captured this amazing snap. Beautiful.

    Celebrating Bonfire Night 2017 - Looking Back




    Last year's bonfire was particularly spectacular. 


    The flames and smoke, coupled with the moon and clouds were awesome to behold. 


    Of course we had to do the obligatory family selfie!


    The fireworks were brilliant. 


    And of course there had to be sparklers!



    The best thing for us is that our dog doesn't bat an eyelid about fireworks. 
    Some dogs get so scared - not ours - she goes out pottering about in the garden with the loudest of bangs going off all round us, and just carries on as usual.

    It's November - bring on the Fireworks!!

    I love November. Its one of my favourite months. The nights are long and dark, the days are generally short and bleak. Not sounding so appealing.

    Ok, ok, November can be considered a non month really, once you get past the fun and games of Bonfire Night.

    What I love is how its a pause. Everything seems to slow down. The madness of the Christmas month hasn't quite set in. Halloween is done and dusted.

    The weather isn't fit for BBQ's and garden fetes. Its not a month I usually go on holiday in but this year we are which is just wonderful!! . Its a month to slow the pace, recharge, and go for lovely walks in the outdoors, then cosy up in a warm place.

    Yes, November is right up there. Enjoy :)
