Coming out of Lockdown anxiety??

2020 was a year that will be remembered - all for the wrong reasons! 2021 has been just as grim so far as the world continues to battle against the pandemic.

As things start to open up again, and spring has sprung (if you ignore the snow falling in April that is) you would think we would all be excited and optimistic right?

Wrong. I think its fair to say a lot of us are feeling anxious. Anxious about suddenly being surrounded by people again. Anxious to be out in public, anxious to hug friends and family when we are allowed again, anxious how normal will ever feel normal again.

So I have decided that I am going to harness this anxiety and use it to drive me to get to where I want to be. Lock down hasn't been kind to my figure its a fact. I am heavier and far less toned than ever before on account of my usual weight fluctuations but without the added incentive of a holiday to motivate me, and, lets face it, without needing to wear anything but lounge wear!

I'm not in a rush to get back to the gym - the thought of people's sweat on the equipment - urgh - but I have the tools I need at home. I have weights, kettle bells, mats and a treadmill. I have resistance bands, a weight bench and a stepper. I have a bike and a skipping rope. I have a Wii which I can use for yoga and boxing and other sports. I have boxing gloves and pads. There are countless exercises that can be done with bodyweight alone and then there is Zumba and dancing and jogging and walking. I have no more excuses.

So my anxious lockdown worries are now going to become the focus of my new exercise plan.

This Woman Can!
